LinkRev: Leave Anonymous Comments on the Internet

LinkRev a portal and a set of plugins for ChromeFirefox and Opera browsers. It lets you write comments to any website on the Internet and get notified when you come across any website that other people commented. No registration or log in required.

How LinkRev Can Be Used

To let you easily understand the idea behind LinkRev visualize that you're buying a flat. You found an interesting online ad and decided to see how it looks live before you pay for it. A few hours later you go there, get inside and... it turns out that the pictures of the flat were taken 30 years ago. How to inform other visitors of this ad about it? You could save them time tons of time... and money by the way.

LinkRev solves this problem. It will display a small badge with number of comments in the top right corner of your browser. When you click the 'L' icon, you'll see what other people want to tell you about this site, flat, car or a blog post. Can you imagine how powerful and useful this technology is?

I believe that in the future there should be no problems to add a functionality of sharing my comments with my friends on Facebook, Twitter or Google+.

Discuss, Rate and Contribute

The platform offers many interesting functionalities. Let me shortly present and explain them to you:

  • Read, write and discuss websites on the Internet
Apart from getting notifications when you come across any site that other people discussed, you can read their comments, write your entries and reply to entries that already exist:

  • Rate comments of other people
Comments are sorted by their value by default. It's always possible to change it. I really like this feature. Having possibility to like or dislike posts makes portals valuable. Highly rated comments are displayed at the top. It's worth mentioning that you'll always get notified if other people start actively commenting some websites:

  • Contribute

According to the authors of LinkRev the core values of this tool are security, freedom and quality. It truly gives endless possiblities. Especially if we contribute and write high quality content. We can notify each other about dangerous or false ads. We can write and discuss articles and blog posts even if the moderators or administrators don't enable it.

The number of users of LinkRev is growing like crazy. At the moment there are over 780 users on Google Chrome alone:

LinkRev plugins are open source. If you understand programming languages (I don't), you can visit GitHub and create your pull requests. The source code is available here: https://github.com/Wymowny/linkrev-frontend
